New Recipes!

My home, I feel like, is constantly full of crap food. We just generally have snacks for the kids, fruit and drinks. We never have great meals unless Glenna goes and buys the ingredients and makes the meals herself. The other issue is that Doc is extremely picky when it comes to his choice with food. He is a strickly meat and potatoes kind of guy. He is also not very daring in that category. When I say meat and potatoes, I mean steak and baked or mashed idaho potatoes. He doesn't like sweet pototoes, or red potatoes, lol...Fortunately, Glenna and our kids are very easy to please. Doc Thomas and Jackson are great eaters and will try just about anything. And Glenna is kind of like me - appreciates anything that tastes good - and will give almost everything a shot.

So, that being said - I'm on a mission to get some new meals into our house over the next few weeks. Here are some of the recipes I'm thinking of;

Italian Sausage Burgers

INGREDIENTS

3/4 lb. Italian sausage
3/4 lb. ground beef
1-1/2 cups white cheddar cheese, shreaded

1 egg
6 hamburger buns
2 Tbsp. thinly sliced fresh basil
2 Tbsp. Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing
6 romaine lettuce leaves
1 large tomato, cut into 6 slices

INSTRUCTIONS
HEAT grill to medium heat.
MIX sausage, beef, 3/4 cup cheese and egg; shape into 6 (1/2-inch thick) patties.
GRILL 5 to 6 min. on each side or until done (160ºF), toasting cut sides of buns on the grill for the last minute. Meanwhile, combine remaining cheese, basil and dressing.
FILL buns with lettuce, tomatoes, burgers and cheese mixture.

Grilled Grey-Poupon-Maple Salmon

INGREDIENTS

1/4 cup maple-flavored or pancake syrup
2 Tbsp. GREY POUPON Hearty Spicy Brown Mustard
1 tsp. minced garlic
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1/8 tsp. ground red pepper (cayenne)
4 salmon fillets (1 lb.)
1 Tbsp. oil

INSTRUCTIONS

MIX first 5 ingredients. Refrigerate several hours.
HEAT grill to medium-high heat. Brush fish with oil.
GRILL 4 min. on each side or until fish flakes easily with fork, brushing frequently with syrup mixture.
