FRIDAY FOOTWEAR FEATURE

Love Fridays! There's just something about the end of the week that puts me in a great mood. Tonight we're going to dinner at a Mexican restaurant with family and having margaritas - which I swear I haven't had in at least a year! I am so excited to just relax and have good food and strong drinks with people I love.

Anyways, this blog is supposed to be about fabulous shoes, and I promise you I've got a great pair for this week! One of my all time favorite designers is Diane Von Furstenberg, but usually just for her clothing, not shoes. This spring her new line is fantastic - more young and fresh-faced than she usually produces in my opinion because I think she realizes that she is now catering to a younger buyer. These shoes are gorgeous. However, let me be clear about this. I am 5'7 1/2" tall, and if I were to wear these shoes, I'd be about 6 feet tall - no thanks - not trying to look like the jolly green giant. I am in love with the color of the wood on the wedge and the platform its such a rich expresso color that I think would compliment anyone! Also, you can't see it that well in the picture I've included, but there is a cute gold zipper on the heel which acts both functionally and fashionably well. The bright cream burlap straps are so obviously perfect against the dark expresso bottoms.

If you are hesitant about wearing white shoes, or worried about paying for designer heels, only to screw them up because of the light color, there is always the option of the same shoe with brown leather straps instead of the white burlap. Not as much of a statement - plain and simple - but still - GREAT shoes. And to sweeten the deal, the brown leather pair are on sale at Saks Fifth Avenue for only $205.99 - totally affordable for a pair of shoes that would get a lot of wear as they go with everything. My featured pair are priced at $295.00, and again are available at Saks Fifth Avenue for purchase.

So, everyone have a great weekend and enjoy a milder break in the weather. I know on Saturday I'll of course be at Morgan Keys' Celebration of Life at Big Doc's house on Edgewood. Surely if you're reading this and are a friend of mine or Doc Christopher's or Glenna's or even Morgan's you know about this gathering and are planning on stopping by to enjoy the company of the people who loved and will always love Morgan Emberton. Tomorrow will be hard - closing the door on a young life, whom no one expected to have to say goodbye to. As one of Morgan's friends mentioned; "She'll be heaven's 1st Angel with tattoos on her wings"...
