So, Doc Thomas gets out of school THIS Wednesday! YAY! And he's staying with us for half the summer! I am so excited to have him stay with us I can hardly wait! I want to give him and Jacks a great summer, and to get it rolling, we're taking them on a little mini-vacation to Holland, MI where my sister lives. Holland is amazing - definitely one of my favorite US cities for sure. I am so excited to share one of my favorite places with the people I love. I know Doc Thomas and Doc will love it, and although Jackson's been before, he was 3 months old, so I am thrilled for him to visit again. We have a few options of places to stay, and I just can't decide what is best. My favorite place is City Flats Hotel. Which I know I could probably get for a lot cheaper than they are telling me if I book it on the way up there that day. It will be last minute, and not like me at all to not have something booked prior to going, but I know I'd get a great deal. City Flats is such a cool hotel, but it's probably our priciest office - even with a last minute deal. And it would only provide us with one room, wheras I'd love for the 2 boys to get their own room and Doc and I have our own - or else I'm sure no one is going to get a good nights sleep. The benefits of staying at City Flats are that I've stayed there before, am familliar with the area, am sure of its proximity to my sister's house, the beach, and downtown Holland. But like I said...VERY expensive. Below is a photo of one of their rooms. Definitely luxurious - which in my Another option we have will actually cost me slightly more, but perhaps be a better value. It's a house with two bedrooms so that we would have separate space. It's also literally right acrossed the street from the beach with amazing views from the livingroom window of Lake Macataw. The other benefit is that we could avoid going out for meals which would not only save me money, but also the headache of taking a 2 and 7 year old into a restaurant - which obviously rarely goes over well. The house also has a grill and a nice deck with a table and chairs so we can have meals outdoors which is better than any restaurant in my book! I also like the fact that there is a pull out couch, so if my sister wanted to, she could stay with us over the weekend as well. I think this is the best situation for us. Here's a shot of the livingroom at this adorable little cottage.
So, I have to make a decision by tonight...keep ya posted!
